Which Way Do I Go?

Recently, most of the conversations I participate in are geared or pointed toward change. Most times, the difference is pretty drastic, or shall I say, life-changing. The pandemic fallout has left most of the world in a tizzy. Changes beyond our wildest dreams have taken place. We all are looking for answers and attempting to develop and plot a course of action to the best of our ability.

We have developed many skills, opinions, and ways of thinking throughout our journey so far. All have served us well, but most just do not work at this particular time. We cannot rely on the attitudes and perspectives we developed at 20 to work successfully for us at 70. What do we do? Many of my friends are retiring and transitioning from a very active existence to one of much less movement. Much like myself are not looking for anything long-term but do need something to keep them busy and their minds sharp.

The only guidance and counsel that I offer is to do something that you are good at doing that requires minimum effort. Find something that brings you great satisfaction and, because of the uniqueness of the skill or talent, can generate you a dollar or two so you can play. Whatever you choose to participate in will likely align with the basic rules of life, doing good for the greatest number of people.

Look at the options available to you. Look at your skills and unique abilities. Please put them in a virtual pot, stir them up and see what rises to the top like cream. Then point yourself in a direction that uses all of you and engage. And understand this, sometimes, the activity you choose to take up or participate in is nothing more than chilling and learning the newest line dance. Enjoy the new you.
