What We Live By

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, the standard belief of those living at the time was that the earth was flat. There was also a time when the pervading belief among the scholars of the time was that the solar system, and the universe per serevolved around the earth. More recently in the arena of track and field, there was the belief that no man could run a mile in under four minutes. For times and times again as one gazed upon the moon, there was never a belief that one day man would set foot on that very same body. What do these beliefs that I have placed before you have in common? Well, their commonality is that as new information came into play, each and every one of these beliefs was shattered by being proven invalid; or shall I say that because of a newly enlightened perspective, they became obsolete.

The beliefs that we have are that upon which we build our lives. They are the ideas and concepts that our behavior is based on, which then condition our minds as to how we are to react or feel when certain external stimuli crosses our paths. We will continue to have the same “feel” which then brings about the same actions, reactions and conditions, which I call being caught in the loop, until updated information becomes available and most importantly, accepted as true. Upon the onset of this phenomenon, beliefs shift and along with that the life experience shifts. This shift is the beginning of living life to the fullest based on beliefs that will move us into expanded consciousness, the state of being where the fulfillment of our desires exist.

Henry David Thoreau said it like this, “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put something behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him, or the old laws will be expanded and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense; and he will live with the license of a higher order of being.” This comes about from ones belief in him/herself and belief in what they are striving to accomplish.

The belief has to be there. It is imperative to success. If you don’t believe you can, why bother? But, when you do believe, the forces of the universe begin to order themselves in lock step supporting you in your endeavor every way possible. There is no time in God so carry your belief, in yourself, and allow the magnificent person that you are to shine forth. At this point another transformative event takes place. Your belief has now become knowing. In knowing there is no doubt or fear. In knowing, those states of consciousness do not exist. They take a moment in time to vanish completely but go they must. So, believe with all your heart. For the belief, in yourself and in life, is what your life is constructed of.

Peace.
