The Family Within

The ancient notion of “Family” can be construed as a Universal term. It can range from a single household unit, a tribe, a nation, our solar System, our Milky Way Galaxy all the way into the undefined Universe itself. We also have families or species of animals and insects, amoebas and other microorganisms.

The notion of “Family” truly hits home with virtually every person on this globe. In this article, we shall pursue identifying and describing the structure and function within us: our DNA family.

I am amazed by how many people know very little, if any, about their DNA. I guess most people raise their head up into the clear night sky in wonderment, asking: “Where do I fit in with all these ambient stars?” but looking inwards, well, not really. I faint at the sight of blood.

Needless to say, our pharmaceutical companies, biologists and anthropologists take the lead for inner exploration. Not to mention, all the CIS shows and scientific investigations that the codes within our DNA reveal many facts and truths. Mapping our human genome has brought wonders to our academic and research doors. By the next decade very little will not be known about the mysteries of our DNA molecules.

In comparison, there are more cells in our bodies than stars in our galaxy.  The basic human cell is quite consistent throughout the various regions and organs of the body, but their behavior may shock you. There’s got to be a few family ties somewhere, and keeping it all simple, let’s take the position that DNA Families include the families of skin, hair, bones, nerves, blood, brain to name a few.

I’d like to mention that I use the term “DNA Family” very loosely. Researching DNA Families is a complex science far beyond our readership, but the point I’m purporting is how relationships manifest between different families of our DNA. The main job of DNA production is making proteins, which in turn dictate the behavior of life with the body. Proteins are the building blocks of cells. But some proteins kill [roughly speaking]. There’s much research underway about families of viruses, and that is extremely complicated.

When a mosquito bites you, it can secrete viruses or diseases. Your immune system then attacks the impurities and hopefully restores you back to normalcy. And with that, you take for granted that your cells knew what they were supposed to do. How does all this work? Well first of all families are self-sustaining and love to communicate. Since the body is a self-healing holistic machine, unity and preservation of the entire body is always on alert.

When the needle of the mosquito pricks your skin, a fire alarm goes off to all fire stations, hence DNA Families. Blood cell families instantly arrive to put out the flame (inflammation), then the immune system family (medics) arrives to assess the damage and apply the proper antidote (medicine); then the skin family arrives at the scene to fix the hole (pavement) and seal it to avoid additional bacteria to enter the wound. And finally the endorphin family arrives to reduce the pain and itch.

What’s magnificent about all these families? Well it’s about how the families communicate, understand the need for unity, possess the power to confront the situation, and above all, have a strong sense for purpose-in-life.

On the ethereal side of things, let’s not forget the “Soul Family.” This mysterious interplay of souls on both sides of the veil captures the curiosity of most minds. It’s a sense of belonging, and belonging to the right family, indeed. We often hear: “Are you a good soul?” or “We must come from the same ‘Soul Family’.”

By and large, everything has a purpose inter-played by a process. The Universe within, and the Universe that surrounds us all; constantly stays in motion, growing, and sustaining itself. The psychology is social. Families are the core unit of Life, and families need other families to sustain a good social balance. Just like the human body, our social families form communities, and eventually, nations.

The fact remains untold to many that 99.9% of your DNA is the same for every other person. There’s only about .01% (around 1 million DNA Codes) that separate each of us. Biologically, we are ONE.

Have Fun.

Peace and Health,
