"We The People" is the first three words of The Constitution of The United States of America. These three words are meant to express the foundational beliefs and social perspectives of this wonderful country that we live in. We feel empowered as total participants in governing as "We The People "includes all. The basis of the governing system is that the people hold the power in this system of government - government by the people. Those who govern are the people themselves.
The people refer to this form of government as a democracy. A government is one in which the people retain supreme power, which is exercised directly or indirectly through a representation system. The representation in a democracy is beholding and is responsible for "We The People." The people's wishes are instituted into laws and edicts by those representing them. The representatives work for the people.
In recent times, it seems like our democratic system of government has been hijacked by special interest groups, billionaires, and some leftover Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy White Supremacists who are hanging on for dear life but are going out of style quickly. Deceit lies and total mental derangement is fueling a movement of uneducated, unskilled white males who want to take control and pretty much run this country like an autocratic nation. Through their ignorance, they are being goaded and taken advantage of by devious Republican Politicians. Not today, Jose! They will not prevail.
Now, one thing I have never understood is why this country is even referred to as a Democracy when, in all actuality, this country is a Republic. Check this out: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to The Republic for which it stands....." It says Republic, not Democracy. Do we even know where we live? Smoke And Mirrors Gang. Smoke and Mirrors.
