African artists must consult their region's nectar to feel their subjects' pulse. When encountering the work of Nigerian artist Isaiah Phillip, I could hear/feel what each of his images spoke. Garden Spices shares his artistry. Gate open.- Victorine

ARTIST STATEMENT
My name is Isaiah Philip, a 27-year-old visual artist from Nigeria. From a young age, I have been captivated by the power of art to tell stories and evoke emotions. My journey began at the age of 17, and despite not having formal training in fine art, I have honed my skills through dedication and self-teaching. Over the years, I have explored various mediums, including acrylic, pencil, and charcoal, but I have found my true passion in acrylics and charcoal.
My artistic style is a unique blend of realism and abstraction, creating works that captivate viewers with depth, motion, and intricate details. Each piece I create is a reflection of my experiences, emotions, and the rich heritage of black culture. My paintings are not just visual representations but are imbued with stories that resonate with people from all walks of life.
Throughout my career, I have achieved both local and international recognition. Art enthusiasts have collected my works across Africa, Dubai, the United States, and the United Kingdom. This diverse audience is a testament to the universal appeal of my art, which transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.
As an artist, I am driven by a passion to express the beauty of life and the richness of black heritage. My works are a celebration of the human spirit, capturing moments of joy, struggle, and triumph. Through my art, I aim to bring wonder and beauty to the world, touching the hearts and souls of those who encounter my creations.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my work. I invite you to join me on this artistic journey and experience the beauty and depth of my creation.

If Benzema got the golden boot after so many years, I would be patient till my golden boot comes, but while I wait, I keep sharpening my skill.
While Benzema's success can serve as an inspiration, it's important to
remember that every individual's circumstances are unique. Age can
certainly present challenges in professional sports, as physical
capabilities tend to decline with time. However, with the right mindset,
dedication, and a focus on maintaining physical fitness, it is possible to achieve
success at an older age.- Isaiah Phillip

I am open to commissions and collaborations, always eager to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of my creativity. My journey as an artist is continuous growth and exploration, and I am excited to see where it will take me next.
