Health as a Word

Our minds utter around sixty-thousands of words per day. Each of these words has a meaning, and behind each grouping of words an intent is formulated. In effect, words are the beginning process of our creations. It’s serious stuff, and when we utter words, especially to others, we are manifesting a creation or proclamation.

Most of the words used today have their origins derived from predecessor words, even from other languages. Some words find their origins from ancient languages as far back as the Sumerians five to eight thousand years ago. And that’s where I’d like to begin with the question: “Where did the word HEALTH come from?”

My initial inquiry leads me to realize that some of the most important words in any civilization are: health, wealth, head, earth and heart. In a sense, they have emphatic meanings and are they actually connected?

In most ancient texts, letters carried specific meaning. Since I can only relate to in the English language, the letter “A” for instance, usually inferred some aspect of arising, ascension, or approaching a higher order thing or event, and it carried a masculine trait. The pyramid glyph outline can be construed as an “A”. The letter “O”, inferred wholeness or unity, and carries feminine traits. The letter “E” complemented the letter “A” and inferred the power to climb or reach the heavens. Generally, masculine letters show straight lines, while feminine letters applied curves. Sequencing masculine and feminine letters were used to create character. Some form of intelligence designed all this, indeed. Aren’t ships feminine?

When a student studies the epistemology of a language and scratches his or her head (no pun here) in their investigation of these important words, what appears to be in common is the use of the morpheme “ea” in key words. Examine how this morpheme is affixed to each of the key words presented. Its roots go deep and beyond my expertise. As a layman, I’ll leave that up to you to further research, but for the sake of it, notice how the “H” is transposed between the words “heart” and “earth”. Was that sincerely intended?

With all this gibberish, what really grabs my attention is the closeness of the words “Health and Wealth”. Is wealth an aspect of health? To have wealth, you must have health, that is, live long enough to enjoy the grandeurs of wealth as gods and goddesses do? No matter how wealthy one is, without health, you’ve got nothing.

“Health” takes on a plethora of meanings and applications. In the overall sense, it infers that the system or process is functioning well. It reveals confidence that all is fine, don’t worry, and trust the process. But by all means, don’t take the process for granted. It needs surveillance and evaluation periodically. Your doctors recommend periodical check-ups. Your engineers constantly monitor each of their systems for which they are accountable.

“Health” carries great meaning and delves into virtually every aspect of our lives: a healthy body, a healthy family, a healthy neighborhood, and healthy civilization, and of course, a healthy Earth. We all have a relationship with Health. It needs our constant surveillance, adjustments and celebrations.

Putting it all together as far as my Life goes, my motto or mantra takes it all in: “I feel happy, healthy, wealthy and lucky.” What’s your
