Harmony

Harmony is actually a feminine trait. It’s an inherent characteristic echoed silently in the subconscious minds of women and children worldwide. Our female population thrives on family, whether in the home, community or workplace. Only with few exceptions, do you find this not true. Harmony can also be considered as a higher vibrational energy field subject to all living things, especially Nature.

What makes harmony important in a band, a home, the classroom or the office is enhanced information flow and performance. Harmony is the keeper of spontaneity. Peace thrives on harmony. Things happen at a quicker and efficient pace when all is running smoothly. When something is not working out properly, that condition immediately stands out. Wise and concerned individuals can pick up on an irregularly and identify it before it becomes a matter of trouble. If something abrasive interferse with the harmonic flow of energy causing immediate attention it needs to be rectified.

Sustaining a positive tone of communication within the environment of the home, business establishment or community helps tremendously. Harmony is also about cleanliness and beauty. Having a messy drawer, room or office does not serve well. Having an unpleasant, deplorable living conditions erodes harmony.

Our human body sustains a multitude of harmonic rhythms. Everywhere, there is movement. On the top of the list is our heart-beat. If that’s not harmonic, we’re in deep trouble, but most people take that for granted.  Our breathing automatically adjusts to our activities from deep sleep to vigorous exercise. Our digestive system operates as one gigantic food processing machine. Should one part break down you will be immediately notified—sometimes by a pain or sudden and unexpected release of bodily perfume—that usually ends all forms of harmony when in a room full of people.

From a psychological point of view, harmony could be considered a behavior. That also implies that it is a learned behavior. A baby toddler can make a mess out of a room in seconds if permitted, just like teenager’s room when undisciplined.

On the political front, keeping the community’s infrastructure in sync and in harmony is crucial. One breakdown in service can lead to much aggravation and millions of wasted tax-payer dollars, especially when it comes to transportation, water and sewer systems, and snow removal. Think of the harmony that exists with air-traffic control. It’s sudden death if not harmonized.

Some prime elements that keep harmony ongoing are personal awareness and orientation; respectively: how things are and where is it going. Men tend to be more pragmatic problem-solvers and determined to have operational structure. Whereas females tend to nurture movement and see things as emotionally aesthetic. A bachelor’s pad may have an empty refrigerator, lots of electronic equipment, and an exercise machine, whereas the lady’s abode would have an array of food options, flowers and plants, offering a more hospitable environment. In both cases, men and women satisfy the elements of harmony in their home as they see it, but the conflict occurs when they try to coalesce their harmonic perceptions under one roof.

As we can see, harmony falls under the realms of personal perceptions. What is good for the cook is not necessarily good for the goose. If harmony is to exist, collaboration among the individuals or parties must be attempted to determine the values and behaviors of the harmony sought.

Gentle up-beat music and flowers offers an immediate flow of positive energy throughout the home or a business establishment. And on the political agenda, moralities, cultures and language assumes leading roles to synchronize under one domain of harmony.

Harmony is a silent rhythm, a foundation of unification, and avails the atmosphere of respect and appreciation by all and for all.
