Artist's Inspiration
Growing up in my rural hometown, Leighton, AL, I was close to my my mother and grandmother who crafted, and my father and grandfather, who were good at building. They influenced my artistic expression. Today, my work is displayed in homes and businesses from Huntsville to California.
I have utilized the watercolor medium for the lion’s share of my creations. I am also versatile in the areas of pen and ink, ceramics, fibers, photography, printmaking and wood working. I work in a loose abstract surrealistic style that sometimes combines the use of watercolor, color pencils, tusche, and magic markers that come together to create captivating Rural and African images that traverse time from our African origins to our present situation.
