Transformations for the good of all can only happen after we reconnect to the self as a collective. It is not just me; it is us.
The Devine had once provided us with everything we would need for a lifetime in these vessels when our biosphere was in perfect condition long before the singular minds decided to use it for their monetary advancement and the acquisition of power. Unfortunately, within our obsessions with being the richest, the most famous, and the most desirable, we have forfeited our basic nature to be nurturing, balanced, whole, light beings. We have simply forgotten who and what we were originally meant to be. The construct we exist within, once perfect, is now flawed.
The signs are clear. Dysfunction.Disease. War. As a collective, we do not live spiritual lives. There will be a shift. It’s already in process. Throughout time, shifts have existed. Much like the change of seasons, intensities always occur just before it fades. We can see this now.
Humans have always had access to the light. Many are still in tune with the Devine. The Devine lies within all of us. There has also been a mass disconnect from the origins of all life. Separation from nature. A departure of love.
In the next shift, a new golden age will appear - a return to Consciousness and a connection to each other, which is the same as self. This evolution shall bring a new earth—a more loving, kind, and peaceful existence. In the meantime, protect your energy against the forces that prevail and, above all, love more.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I am in search of my higher consciousness, all within the constraints of this part melanin-based vessel. Some say we arrive out of the womb already aware of our destiny. I have always gravitated toward future ideas: new approaches and ways of looking at things. I’ve been searching for humanity within the sea of infinite compassion. Simply trying to get closer to the divine. I meditate twice a day. I try to nourish my body and my soul with proper sustenance. My art practice is a continuation of these values. This often leads me to make observations about this life and its consequences.
I love all of the art forms. I am most adept with pigments and painting devices. I listen to music, watch films, and read constantly. However, when starting a painting, I work in silence. It gives me better clarity in developing a dialogue and a narrative within the art itself. Once the work can stand up, I can begin introducing external sounds to continue my practice.
I would say my work's most recurring theme is identity, especially in these times filled with animosity toward the skin that many of my brothers and sisters inhabit. It is within this framework my paintings are born. The art, for me, is both an evaluation and validation of our existence. We exist. We are beautiful. We are powerful and humane. We are love.
