HOME

Ask me where I find peace and I’ll tell you without a doubt it’s HOME. It’s where I love to be when I need to heal my soul and connect with the Almighty. After I started my own family, I wanted to ensure that I created a safe haven for the people that I love. A place where we could not only lay our heads, laugh and cry together, but a place that would reflect the individuality of the people that reside in the place that is called HOME.

My husband is from Spanish Harlem and I’m from Florence, Alabama. Together we have lived in Alabama, Louisiana, Ohio, and New York City. Living in all of these areas over the past 16 years of marriage has provided a colorful palate of home design ideas for us. Having the opportunity to live in several places in different regions of the country coupled with personal and professional travel in and out of the United States helped me to put together an eclectic style that I define as “The Lloyds”.

One of my favorite things to do is to visit a few of my favorite home furnishings stores, which include Restoration Hardware, Arhaus, Williams Sonoma Home, Love Sac, and more. I love to pick up iconic pieces and then accessorize them with fun finds from thrift stores, yard sales and yes, I’ve even picked up items off the street meant for the trash. I’ve been very lucky to find Waterford Crystal, beautiful vintage pictures and paintings as well as many other exciting treasures to bring my HOME to life by creating what I call “HOME FEELINGS.” Because feelings change like the seasons it’s important that the Lloyd HOME stays fluid by designing it to welcome and embrace change.

Growing up as a Southern girl, I always enjoyed sitting on the front porch and people watching while waving at passers-by. My current home has a beautiful front porch, which I’ve designed to be an extension of the inside of my HOME. Our little dog, Othello, loves to sit on our front porch and do what I did as a little girl growing up in the South, by watching the neighborhood children ride their bikes up and down the street. Every time I see him in the chair I think of the famous quote by Benjamin Franklin “Well Done is Better Than Well Said”.

My goal for the future is that I’ll get to spend more time decorating The Lloyd HOME. I even hope to one day own my own home furnishings store as well as a bed breakfast. I want to be able to share my love for HOME openly with others.
